  • You’re a wiz at matching appropriate communications solutions to business requirements.
  • You’re self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and see things through to the end.
  • You like to collaborate with a team on the big ideas, but you also need a little alone time to work on the details.

What You'll Do

  • As the primary writer and editor of Insurance publications, you will generate newsletter and blog ideas and content, lead content development, and oversee the design and layout of publications.
  • You will represent Insurance on the content committee for our member magazine, Westworld.
  • You will help ensure a consistent member and employee experience online and offline through integration between communications channels.
  • You will support the business by helping ensure correspondence reflects our practically family brand voice.
  • You will consult with subject matter experts and stakeholders to develop communication plans, articles and stories for internal and external audiences.
  • You will monitor current media to identify opportunities to expand our media presence relative to insurance issues.
  • You will work with our corporate communications department to respond to requests for insurance related information from the media and help coordinate the appropriate spokesperson or information sources.
  • Provide support in managing our social media strategies.

What You've Done

  • You have a post-secondary degree, certificate or diploma in communications, public relations and/or a related field.
  • You have some experience under your belt, having worked in communications for about 5 years.
  • You are an excellent writer and storyteller, who knows how to unearth an organization’s interesting stories and bring them to life.
  • You are familiar with publishing content online and in print.
  • You are an editing guru who lives and breathes CP style but can also flex toward the Yahoo stylebook when required (and knows when that is).
  • You may not be Steven Spielberg, but you can shoot a short video and edit it into something that gets your message across and engages your audience – ditto with a camera.
  • You are able to manage multiple tasks of competing priority and still produce amazing results – and if you’ve manage the odd project, well that would be a bonus.
