Position Info:
This position is responsible for providing quality driver and classroom education to our members and clients. This is a contract position. Contract instructors must provide their own vehicle suitable for Driver Education.
Background (Education/Licenses/Work Experience):
-
High School Diploma
-
Holds a Class 1, 2, or 4 Alberta Operator’s License or the ability to achieve during training
-
Licensed Alberta Driving Instructor with endorsements appropriate for teaching novice in-vehicle and/or classroom programs. (An extensive training program is provided to successful candidates to achieve the same)

Acceptable security clearance is required (Criminal record check including vulnerable sector check)

Clean Driver’s Abstract (10 Year Driver’s Abstract)
Skills & Proficiency:

Superior teaching skills as related to novice in-vehicle and/or classroom programs

Superior communication skills, verbal and written

Attention to detail

Superior ability to foster an attitude of interest and acceptance for participants

Superior ability to enhance self-esteem and personal development and growth for participants

Superior ability to establish healthy working relationships and promote improved team work (In-car, classroom, fleet safety)

Superior ability to use a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as role playing, simulations, group discussions and exercises, videos and lectures

Know how to use instructional aides and equipment (flipcharts, multimedia projectors, presentation hardware and software for classroom)

Have basic computer skills for preparing training materials and using e-learning methods (classroom)
